Rune installer said the update was successful but I get the following Unreal Engine error when attempting to start the game:

Had to reinstall, game works without the update but I get the same problem when I install the update every time.

I made the same mistake. It now works since I restarted my PC.

@sir_pimpsalot69 That happened to me and I solved it like this:
Right click on Silent Hill desktop shortcut, properties, compatibility, and check “disable fullscreen optimizations”. Dont ask me why it worked, but it did. Hope it helps.

Create a shortcut of SHProto.exe, add -dx11 if it doesn’t work disable fullscreen optimization too
